MANCHESTER, N.H. - After joining the Fisher Cats on Wednesday night in Erie, Blue Jays pitcher Brandon Morrow is expected to return with the Fisher Cats when they begin a six-game homestand on Tuesday, August 14. Morrow is expected to start the opener of the homestand on Tuesday night when the Binghamton Mets come to town. Morrow pitched five solid innings for the Fisher Cats in a win over Erie, 8-3, in his first outing for New Hampshire Wednesday night.
Morrow is recovering from an oblique injury sustained when he was developing into the ace of the 2012 Blue Jays staff. At the time of his injury, he was 7-4 with a 3.01 ERA in 13 starts, including three complete-game shutouts. In 77.2 innings he had given up just 54 hits with 67 strikeouts. In his third year with Toronto, Morrow had 203 strikeouts a year ago, averaging the most strikeouts per nine innings in the American League.
Tickets are available for Tuesday night by visiting the Fisher Cats website or by calling the Ticket Office at 603-641-2005. Tuesday night is WMUR Play Ball for CHaD Night with 50-percent of all ticket proceeds benefiting the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
